[1091-2300] BLIND RUN – Audio Briefing (MP3)

Description

Step into the shadows of late Cold War espionage with this Full-Length audio briefing detailing the downfall and defection of Edward Lee Howard. Listeners are placed directly inside the closed-door polygraph chamber at Langley, where scratching ink pens recorded the physiological tremors that ended a promising espionage career. The narration brings listeners through Howard’s descent into alcoholic paranoia in the Santa Fe desert, tracking how an embittered former operative converted his photographic memory of Moscow Station’s assets into lethal currency for the KGB. Featuring cinematic sound design and an authoritative, investigative voice, this Full-Length presentation traces every misstep: the CIA’s refusal to monitor a compromised operative, the delayed handoff to the FBI, and the daring physical evasion tradecraft Howard deployed to outmaneuver federal surveillance teams. Designed for immersive, hands-free listening, this definitive audio documentary provides a masterclass in human intelligence, counterintelligence vulnerabilities, and the high-stakes psychology behind one of the most damaging betrayals in American clandestine history.
